WHAT WE TREAT
This list is not exhaustive, do get in touch to discuss your issue with a consultant hypnotherapist and counsellor in our free 15 minute phone consultation.
Both depression and anxiety can be debilitating. Our moods fluctuate because we are experiencing life all the time.
With anxiety you cannot stop worrying even though you understand your concerns are far more intense than the situation demands. There are physical symptoms which accompany worry such as headaches, irritability and obsessive compulsions. You may have difficulty concentrating, and often have issues with sleeping.
With depression feelings of sadness become pervasive, you lack in energy, feel worthless and cannot get out of bed or complete normal everyday tasks. You may have a decrease or increase in appetite. Some people suffer depression which comes and goes and others have it chronically.
Do you feel like you are always on the go and not able to relax even when you have down time? Do you worry about many things beyond your control? Do you struggle with stress? Are you wired and live on adrenaline? Do you wear many hats and struggle to keep everything under control? Is your job demanding a lot of your time and energy? If so, you may be suffering from stress. The stress response by the body is a natural and normal phenomenon. However, when you are dealing with chronic, long-term stress, it can take a toll on your mental and physical well-being.
You have probably heard about how stress is a major contributor to heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, anxiety and depression. The good news is that just because our current lifestyle is conducive to a lot of stress, you can learn ways to reduce its effect on you considerably.
If you suffer from low self-esteem, you know how deeply it affects your overall quality of life; your relationships, your work and your ability to be resilient and fulfilled.
Self-esteem refers to how you think and feel about yourself. The more positive these thoughts and feelings are, the higher your self-esteem will be. Having a negative self-perception results in a distorted view of one’s self, which leads to further lack of self-confidence, poor performance, and even depression. With a positive self-identity, on the other hand, a person is able to set realistic expectations for oneself and pursue goals.
Do you have trouble falling asleep? Do you wake up many times during the night and are not able to go back to sleep? Do you fall asleep easily but wake up way too early feeling tired? These are all symptoms of insomnia. Our sleep is vital for our well-being and lack of sleep can cause a variety of symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, trouble concentrating, GI problems, overeating, using too much caffeine, etc. Insomnia can also be the symptom of other psychological problems such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Getting enough sleep is a necessity for long-term longevity.
Relationships can be a source of one’s greatest joy and also deepest pain. Despite your best intentions, you may find yourself repeatedly engaged in unhealthy patterns of relating. Many of us were not given the knowledge or tools necessary to sustain a healthy, passionate relationship. Therapy can offer the support necessary to have a fulfilling connection and intimacy with your partner. Here are just a few of the issues commonly addressed in relationship therapy:
- Feeling stuck repeating the same fight over and over again without resolution
- Sexual Difficulties
- Effects of Trauma
- Feeling Numb or Shut Down
- Addictive Behaviours (e.g., work, sex, porn, internet, gambling)
- Differences in Parenting Styles
- Difficulty Managing In-Laws
Sex is an integral part of healthy and satisfying relationships. It can sometimes feel awkward talking about sex in a direct way to your partner. This can lead to feelings of resentment, insecurity, frustration and loneliness.
Sex Therapy can help resolve many of the following issues:
- Diminished desire
- Desire Differences
- Erection Difficulties
- Orgasm Difficulties
- Rapid/Delayed Ejaculation
- Painful intercourse
- LGBTQ Issues
- Sexual Anxiety
- Sexual Aversion
- Sexual compulsivity or addiction
What’s holding you back, a fear or a phobia? Fear of speaking in public? Fear of flying? Lifts? Spiders? Open spaces? People?
A fear generally grows out of a perfectly natural, normal response to an unusual or traumatic event (one can develop a fear of dogs after being bitten by one). A phobia, on the other hand, is an irrational fear – an unusual response to a normal event (one develops a phobia of flying, even though he/she has never had a negative experience in an airplane). Both fears and phobias can be treated successfully with hypnosis.
Couples counselling helps couples, whether married or not, understand and resolve conflicts and improve their relationships. Couples counselling gives couples the tools to communicate better, negotiate differences, problem solve and even argue in healthier ways.
How stop smoking treatment works
For many smokers the first cigarette was lit at an early age, at a time when you consciously decided to give smoking a try.
Without realising it the more cigarettes that were smoked the more addictive smoking became for you.
Will power alone will not help you stop smoking as it is a deep rooted habit and your reliance on cigarettes is linked to certain life situations and activities.
You therefore now have no conscious control over your smoking and this is why hypnotherapy is so effective in aiding you to stop.
The use of hypnosis simply allows your subconscious mind to be more receptive to suggestion, and it is this subconscious part of the mind that controls your smoking habit. You have no need to worry about hypnosis, you are totally in control the whole time, hypnosis is simply a state of relaxation and is very enjoyable.
You once were a non-smoker so with the help of hypnotherapy we can get you back to being that non-smoker.
As long as you want to give up then with the aid of the stop smoking treatment you will do.
Our stop smoking treatment works in just one session, in that time you will receive a full consultation regarding your smoking habits where the hypnotherapist will then proceed to cure you of your smoking habit with treatment tailor made to you.
The large majority of people who come for this treatment are free of their smoking addiction at the end of this session.
